In 2011, the Coober Pedy Elders told ARAS that they believed they could restore respect to the Elders by teaching young Aboriginal people about their culture and traditions, and they would like to do this in a traditional setting in the form of a Mentoring Camp. In May 2012, Aboriginal elders and youths from all over South Australia, service providers and members of the Aboriginal community of Coober Pedy gathered at Ten Mile Camp in the desert country near Coober Pedy. This is their experience.
