There is a short history of the site which was once the first boarding school for Aboriginal children and then, in the 1850s, part of the state's Destitute Asylum and then the government's Department of Chemistry before it was restored to house the Museum. This is followed by a walk through the exhibition galleries, presenting the history of immigration and settlement in South Australia.
